New Delta Avengers are not people of Delta state – Governor Okowa



Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state has said that members of the New Delta Avengers are not people of Delta state.

A former militant leader, Israel Akpodoro, has alleged that the sponsors of the group are members of the board of DESOPADEC.

He, however, said if they are, they should accept dialogue and allow the prevailing peace reign in the state.

 Against the allegation of a former militant leader, Israel Eshanekpe Akpodoro, that the new militant group which threatened to blow up oil installations in Delta state are being sponsored by board members of DESOPADEC, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has said that the group with the name New Delta Avengers are not the people of Delta state.

Akpodoro had, in an email to thenationonlineng, alleged that the sponsors of the new militant group are angry board members of the Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC).

He alleged that the militants were holding brief for their sponsors.

The People of Kogi West Senatorial District in Kogi State Are Set To Make History in Nigeria.




The constituents of controversial senator, Dino Melaye might be the first to recall a senator in the history of Nigeria.

The peoples resolve for the exercise is unrivaled, 247liveupdate Corespondent visited some wards in Lokoja and Koton Karfe, Kogi local governments on Sunday, June 11, and observed that the collection of signatures from the people of Kogi West Senatorial District to recall Senator Dino Melaye from the Nigerian Senate is gaining momentum. 

The people who came out in their hundreds to participate in the exercise, voiced their anger over what they termed the 'bad representation' of the senator.' 

A visit to Ward B CSS Bookshop (open space) under Lokoja local government area, indicates that 401 constituents out of 1,227 voters have appended their signatures to recall the senator.

BREAKING: Osinbajo signs 2017 budget into Law




Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has signed the 2017 appropriation bill into law. 

The budget signing came after several months of expectations. 

Senator Bukola Saraki, Yakubu Dogara, were among top government functionaries present at the event.

Yemi Osinbajo, Nigeria's acting president, has finally signed the 2017 appropriation budget into law after months of delay.

The acting president signed the bill into law in Abuja today Monday, June 12, in place of President Buhari.

Present at the signing of the budget was Bukola Saraki, president of the Senate, his counterpart in the Federal House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and a host of others top government officials.
