Edo State Governor Donates N2 Million To Victims of Herdsmen Attack

Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki, has reached out to victims of Fulani Herdsmen attack in the state by donating N500, 000 each to four families affected by the attack.

Anthony Eboigbodin, the Head of Uhunmwode Local Government Council, in a statement disclosed this at the end of a Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) meeting presided over by the governor at Edo State Government House in Benin. 

Eboigbodin disclosed that the families of the four victims would get N500, 000 each. Meanwhile the Edo Joint Account and Allocation Committee (JAAC) has declared N2.18 billion as total allocation accrued to the 18 local governments in the state from the Federation Account for the month of June.

According to an earlier report, gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen struck along the busy Benin-Auchi-Okene Highway on Thursday, March 17 in Edo state. 

The herdsmen killed the immediate past Chairman of Etsako-East Local Government Area in the state, Mr Suleiman Afegbua. 
They also kidnapped 15 travelers along the busy Benin-Auchi-Okene Highway.
